Does Google AdWords alter organic results?

ASHLAND, Ky. — A popular question that comes our way often as it related to Google search results is, “Does having GoogleAdwords ads affect organic results?” The short answer to this is no.

So if you purchase Google AdWords spots, your results otherwise on organic results will not change. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good idea to purchase AdWords. In fact, we came across some great data that would suggest the opposite — that combining great organic results with AdWords pays off with added click traffic.

A Google study shows the benefits of pairing an ad with a high-ranking, No. 1, organic result. From an SEO standpoint, the benefit of running both together is that the brand would have lost 50% of clicks if it had only the paid ad or No. 1 organic ranking alone.

So, if you want to maximize the tangible return of what SEO optimization has to offer, great organic results combined with Adwords placement is the way to go.

But if you choose not to go with GoogleAdwords, your organic results alone will not be altered either way, good or bad.
