Five easy steps to start promoting your new website
So, you’ve got your new website developed and you’re ready to make the most of it. What’s next, you ask?
Rarely should websites be considered apples to apples. Websites do different things for different industries, businesses and individuals. And whatever your website objective is, that plan needs to be executive inside your customized marketing approach and the dynamic environment of being online.
Trying to master everything, and all at once, just as you’re starting to navigate online marketing is not a good idea. This is especially true if you are doing a lot of this work on your own. Take baby steps with your new website, and do it right.
Here are a few basics that are not overwhelming that you can implement as a first step as you set out with your new website:
- Make sure your website link is part of any marketing — print, online, business cards, business or local networking directories, etc.
- Make sure your website link is part of social media platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn; link up wherever you have a business or directory connection
- Make sure your website details are accurate online — again, look to online social media platforms and directories to make sure your website, business details, hours of operations, contact details (i.e phone number, address, etc.) are all correct
- Make sure your Google My Business profile is in order (this goes along with the previous bullet, and is emphasized because of its importance to online search engine optimization
- If you’re blogging, content that is relevant, well structured and consistent is important; and make sure to share this content via social media or email marketing campaigns if you utilized them
Execute the above processes deliberately and with accuracy, instead of trying to take the internet by brute force, and you will increase your chances of success with your new website.
